A Bit About Me

Dr. Mohmammed Abdel-Megeed Salem is currently a Professor of Image and Computer Vision at the Faculty of Media Engineering & Technology, The German University in Cairo. Since 2009 to 2016 I was Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, Ain Shams University. I have received the B.S. degree in 1997 in Mathematics and Computer Science. and in 2002 I have received the M.Sc. degree in Scientific Computing from the Ain-Shams University in Cairo. In November 2008 I have received the D.Sc. degree from the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Germany in Multiresolution Image Segmentation.

Dr. Salem has published a book and over than 100 papers in the fields of signal, image and video processing. I have gained teaching experiences and supervised different graduation projects during my work in Ain-Shams University in Cairo, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, and German University in Cairo. I have visited many universities as an internal researcher, a post-doc or as visiting professor like the Knowledge Media Institute (KMi), Milton Keynes, UK, Heinz Nixdorf Institute, Paderborn, German, Humboldt-Universität in Berlin, Germany and University of Trento, Italy. My research interests include: Video Surveillance, 3D Vision, Multimedia Analytics, Remote Sensing, Computer Vision, Signal Processing, Machine Learning, Multiresolution Analysis and Wavelet Transform.
